privacy policy
effective: 11 may 2026
homebrewy is built and operated by bjørn skalkam ("i", "me"). this policy explains what data the app collects, why, and what your rights are. if you have questions, email support@homebrewy.app.
what data the app collects
- account data, when you sign in with apple:
- an opaque apple user identifier
- your name and email, only if you choose to share them
apple may relay your real email through a privaterelay.appleid.com address; in that case i never see your real email.
- coffee data, when you use the app:
- beans you log: name, roaster, origin, process, roast date, status, rating, free-text notes, and an optional photo of the bag
- dial-in settings: dose, yield, time, grind, water temperature, grinder name, free-text notes, and an optional photo
- drink templates you customise
- your household membership, if you create or join one
- nothing else. homebrewy does not collect: location, contacts, microphone, calendar, health data, advertising identifiers, browsing history, or device diagnostics. there are no third-party analytics, advertising sdks, or trackers in the app.
where data is stored
- on your device, in apple's swiftdata local store.
- on a private backend hosted on supabase (eu region). data is transmitted over https and stored encrypted at rest. row-level security restricts every record so only you (and members of your household) can read or modify your data.
who can see your data
- you, on every device where you sign in.
- members of your household, if you create or join one. household membership is opt-in via invite code; you can leave a household at any time and your shared data stops being visible to its other members.
- me, in the limited cases where i need to debug an issue you report. i will never share or sell your data.
third-party processors
- apple, inc. — sign in with apple authentication.
- supabase, inc. — encrypted database + photo storage. their privacy policy is at supabase.com/privacy.
how long data is retained
your data stays in the backend for as long as you keep the app installed and signed in. uninstalling the app does not delete your backend data on its own — to delete everything, email support@homebrewy.app from your sign-in address and i'll delete your account and all associated data.
children
homebrewy is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
changes to this policy
if i change this policy, the new version will appear on this page with a new effective date. material changes will also be announced in the app's release notes.
